“In the name of health, Please don’t kill your desire for taste. There is a way to make healthy foods delicious. Learn the art of Cooking.”- Rajit Dixit.

I remember myself in this tug of war between eating meat or not since I was 10. My Mother is a Vegetarian and my Father is a Meat Eater. Now I was stuck in the middle. Everybody in my family told me to eat meat. It gives you protein, be a man. A man eats meat. But my mother was the only person who said, “It’s your choice.”. I got interested in her story of turning into a vegetarian. Her story goes like this.

Growing up she was a meat-eater. She never imagined in her rarest dream to be a vegetarian. In fact, she used to get disgusted even with the idea of surviving on the plant-based diet. But her decision of not consuming meat came from a desire for non-violence. She recalls a dream that terrified her about consuming meat. The very next morning she quit meat. There was a lot of repulsion from her family and her in-laws but she kept being persistent and took a charge of her life to be dependent only on a plant-based diet.

Now I am no science guy who can prove you anything to say which diet is good. I am simply here to say, “ It’s your choice.”

I remember feeling guilty every time I felt so good eating a slice of meat. I have witness people killing a pig, a chicken, a goat, a buffalo & fish. It terrified me to my cores. In spite of my declination to eating mammals of any sort. I was still consuming fish and chickens. I just couldn’t bring myself out of their delicious taste.

Now, I take a lot of reference from Micheal Pollan, Dr. Andrew Weil, and Rajiv Dixit. Their intention is to inspire people to eat whole foods, not processed foods. It was completely easy for me to eliminate processed foods from my diet. But I think it took me a while to eliminate carbonated drinks and juices, with all those addictive sugars. Yes, It was difficult at the beginning to fight the urge but I had failed at keeping my promise before. It became a practice and finally, I said, “ Enough Is Enough”. This is my body, The health. If I ought to be energized and powerful, no More Processed Foods of any kind. But I still had the dilemma of eating meat or not.

I will say it honestly, As of Oct 18, 2019, I consume chicken and seafood but to a very minimum quantity. My major source of food mostly plants. My intention is to become a Vegetarian or even Vegan but Gradually. Bring a drastic change in my eating pattern is not me. I like doing gradual changes, slow but steady. But why am I going V?

I experimented with my body. I never knew how to eat, when to eat, what to eat and even why we eat. Ask yourself these questions, Do you know a proper way of eating? I won’t answer these questions because it’s your job to do that. I found my answers, and I have a pretty good feeling you will end up in one very similar to mine. Not just what to eat, but why we eat, how to eat, how much to eat and when to eat. I found myself more energized, light and active on a plant-based diet. Once I changed my diet and involved in cooking, a new flavor was added in my life.

I know you must be a cliche for you but think about this though, “Health is wealth.”. It’s just mere word but once these words become a living reality in your life you will see a miracle in you.

Thank you so much for staying with me till the end. I love you all, Take care of your health. See you next time, Lots of Love Chao.
