“You smile not because you are happy or feel good about something, you smile because you know you can handle life.” — Manoj Pun Tilija
To the dying rich man, “When were you the most alive?”
The man: When I had nothing.
When I just moved out of my father’s house. When food was tasteless, the hours were long, and when my body ached from the pain of labor.
When I had nothing for saving. Living in scarpe basement and driving an old rusty ford.
I was hungry. I was alive, I wanted to take over the world. The fire in the belly was enough to fuel my vigor.
Oh, I’d trade all my fortune to live that life again.
All the riches and pleasures pale in comparison to the pain and suffering of my struggling days.
Though I have conquered wealth. Now, I do not feel alive anymore. These are the last words of a dying old man:
“Live as if this is your second chance.”
The writer does not know everything, and nor does he have the experience to sharpen his decision-making skill.
So how can we live with the least amount of regret and guilt ? How can we make sure the life we live and the decisions we take align with our true happiness?
Just make these three decisions:
“What you do, where you live, and whom you live with.”
Every other decisions are minutiae/fillers to your main story.
They do not impact your life as much as these three decisions do.
Along with this model, add this module of the writer's experience:
