Fortunate Events.
“You have to be right once.”- Manoj Pun Tilija
I was having my tea in the morning when I heard a loud noise from the wall, “THUM”. It made the noise again, “THUM”. I wondered if the next-door neighbor was moving something.
That was not the case.
She was trying to squash a spider.
I wasn’t right this time, again.
It is becoming more obvious than ever, how life-changing an event can be. Skip the catastrophic events that completely change one's current life trajectory. That happens too, deal with it.
I am interested in the fortunate events.
For example: You currently own a thousand dollars in your name. This gives you the option to buy certain types of food of a certain quantity and quality, an option to purchase certain types of clothes, and certain types of accessories. Now, scale that thousand to ten thousand or hundreds of thousands or even thousands of thousands. Do you still think of purchasing the same types of options you were used to when you were a thousand-dollar man? You will start to use fancy words like capital allocation, leverage, compound interest, investments, and venture.
Something changes when the size of the wallet increases. And it has to. The same quest (Question) that led you from 1000 to 10,000 is not the same question you ask to grow from 10,000 to 1,00,000.
The impact of a fortunate event is a bright and inspiring thought. You get to scale up or scale down your lifestyle. You get to enjoy freedom without looking at your bank balance. You get to count your blessings.
You get the options.
So then how to accumulate these fortunate events? How to become fortunate?
You can hit your shots as many times as you want, You have to hit it once.
You have to be right once.
