“With the completion of each step, the next will follow.”- Manoj Pun Tilija.

Oar: How do I become productive?

Morgan: What do you mean by “productive”?

Oar: You know hard work, more results, more options, more accomplishments, and more happiness.

Morgan: Wait wait wait. You think that by being more productive, you can become happier?

Oar: Yeah. Isn’t that how it works?

Morgan: And who said that?

The happiness myth is our paradigm. You have a script that says, “ If do this and you will be happy”.

I have no problem with myths. If it works for you great. Mine did not. It did not make me any happier.

My script said, Work, make more money, and be happy.

It made me happy, for a while. Then the conditions of the script changed.

It now said, have this car, and be happy. Then have this person, and be happy. Go to this place, and be happy. Buy this style, and be happy. Go to this party, and be happy. And on and on and on.

I did it all, and, I was happy, for a while.

Now don’t get the wrong idea. I still like following some scripts and it does make me happy for a while.

Now, who said, “happy is supposed to be everlasting”?

You see what happened here. My macro script was working with the condition of happiness supposed to be an everlasting sensation. That this happiness I feel when I am with a certain person or I am in a certain place or If I have possession of a something should be forever.

Who sold this to me?

The spiritual fanatics hold a belief in eternal happiness. Everlasting bliss of divine love. I get to experience peace and calmness when in meditation. But that does not last forever. I have the next bill to pay and all the accumulated bliss disappears.

The workaholic wants to work and work forever. Because again of the script. Being productive makes you happy.

Is it really though? Does it really though? Does hard work really make you happy?

If so then a Rickshaw driver or the bricklayers would be the happiest person. But they are not.

In fact, poor people are the unhappiest people in our society.

Money will not solve all of your problems. But it will solve most of your money problems.- Naval Ravikant

So let me now tie all the pieces together.

There is a script.

Being spiritual will not make you happy and pursuing the pleasures of this world will also not make you happy.

Being spiritual will not give you a moral high ground and pursuing the pleasures of this world will not make you a capitalist scum.

Knowing what the roles are, pursuing them, and practicing them based on our level of skill and time leverage will make you happy, most of the time.

And with this, I just sold you another script.

This is my wish & my blessing, may you find who you truly are & express it to the world.

Lots of Love, Chao.
