“Maybe in another life, we’ll meet again and get it right. But whatever happens, you will always remain my one perfect memory, my one perfect dream.”

— Mia Asher

I got my pair of dogs when I was 9. They were brothers, yet their personalities were very different. The chubby on my left(Rocky) was a simpleton and brave. The slimmer one on my right(Jacky) was witty and Ferocious. It was interesting to see how animals have personalities. The fun part is, their personality changes as they grow. I saw them play, grow, have fun and finally leave me.

It piqued a simple curiosity in me, What kind of a person am I?

I used to spend all day with my dogs, running, roaming and racing. On Saturdays, I took my dogs up the hill to collect Pine Cones for firewoods. As I am writing these sentences, I realize how fortunate I was to have them in my life. I loved my dogs. I learned lessons from my dogs.

But what can we learn from them?

I observed that Rocky was a Simpleton. He was also a glutton, who grew up with a larger frame. He was slower than Jacky but had a powerful bite. Every time they had a scolding Rocky shrank himself. I wonder what he was thinking about me?

I observed that Jacky was a witty one. He would roam around the farmhouse to find escape routes. Although he had a smaller frame, Jacky could scare the hell out of anyone. He had this ferocious roar.

But why am I talking about the personalities of my late Dogs?

It’s because I want you & I to realize how similar we are with respect to them.

Some people find themselves weak, Some find themselves strong. Some find themselves confident, Some find themselves scared. Everybody has a label identifying themselves.

Now the intention is not to point out your strength or weakness but to observe them, “without our own judgment”.

Feel your Confidence, Feel your fear and do it anyway.

Feel your Excitement, Feel your uncertainty and do it anyway.

My dogs taught me to be simpleton and brave. They taught me to be harmless and Ferocious. They taught me to be powerful and Loving.

You see, we look at our options with an “either/or” perspective. You either choose this or either choose that. My offer is to tell you, why not both?

Although they are not with me anymore, I appreciate their presence in my life. They have unintentionally, sparked my life with theirs. And I hope these words will spark yours.

About my cat?

Well she taught me something wonderful. Maybe next time.

Now, how many insights can you learn from your loved ones? 1,2,3………….

This is my wish & my blessing, may you find who you truly are & express it to the world.

Lots of Love, Chao.
